is anybody on baby aspirin ? If so for how long in pregnancy you have been prescribed for ? And why you have been prescribed ?
I had thin lining issues and 11 weeks pregnant but I’m wondering if I should ask midwife to prescribe me aspirin as I’m not currently taking them but feeling nervous of not having them as well . So any insights on them will be helpful and calm my worrying mind 😕

I took it with my first succesful transfer, but from before transfer as I heard it could improve blood flow and may help implantation. My consultant said it wasn't necessary as I didn't have a blood clotting disorder and even if I did they wouldn't give aspirin for it, but much stronger prescription meds. But he wasn't remotely bothered about me taking one a day if it helped me feel like I was doing something. Carried on taking it for quite a lot of the pregnancy - midwives and consultants said I didn't need to as I didn't have any risk factors (high BP, weight, age etc - think these are all to do with pre-eclampsia risk) but again weren't bothered if I wanted to take one a day. I think I just tapered off at some point without giving it much thought tbh. This pregnancy I wasn't on aspirin when I conceived and haven't taken it to now (6mnths) and it's been fine. The midwives and consultants just said if I develop any risk factors (like high bp) then they'd recommend me taking it but until then no need. Think if you've not been on it already it's probably something to raise with your midwives, and consultant (you'll normally allocated a consultant if you've had fertility treatment or problems in the past).
hi, I was given estrogen for the lining as part of my ivf. Progesterone to then support the pregnancy.. and blood thinners to prevent clots as a result of the meds. I would speak to a doctor before taking anything x
Hi, i was not given the baby aspirin instead asked for it,heard about it helping with implantation which had been my issue with all the previous transfers and had no blood clots disorder but i so wanted aspirin which finally helped with my successful transfer. There were also few other things i asked for and was no harm in giving as per my consultant.I stopped it only two weeks before my delivery. Sticky vibes xx
My doctor prescribed me baby aspirin at 9 weeks pregnant. She said I have a risk factor because of my age (34) and type 1 diabetes and wants to make sure the baby gets enough food from the placenta. I have to take it untill birth.
I had aspirin after multiple attempts at IVF (with no aspirin) and no changes required to meds and no reason why treatment wasn’t working. The Dr explained there was no evidence to support it however my lining did become thicker on that transfer than before by a couple of 0.1mm and the transfer did work. I then had to take it for the entire pregnancy. No harm done to baby they are absolutely perfect! Xx
I was prescribed it at 20 weeks as my blood pressure was starting to creep up. I haven’t had a single headache since I started it either which has been a blessing!
I am 13 weeks pregnant at the moment. On my first midwife appointment about 4 weeks ago, they tallied up my risk factors. Initislly I had 4 risk factors:twin pregnancy, high bmi, over 35 (Im 44), and IVF, so they told me that from week 12 i need to take 2 baby aspirin (150) and a daily injection. Unfortunately, I went for a second that same day and one of the embryos had stopped developing & no heartbeay. So I went back to the midwife who said i only need the aspirin as my risk factor we down to 3. I've started taking the aspirin on week 12 but I had an appt with the obstetrician tmrw and was going to ask questions about aspirin and folic acid as well as other things. Im happy to update but honestly I think it's really down to your own individual circumstances so best to get advice from your midwife/medical team who would evaluate your own risks.Hope it helps.
Well the obstetrician was happy that I had started the aspirin 150mg from week 12 but also said that I need to go on blood thinning injections too bcs my bmi at 40 meant it counted as 2 risk factors. It's a shame bcs I had just finished the progesterone injections a week ago.
I took it from 12 weeks until birth with my son as I had risk factors; first baby, IVF and over 40. I think it reduces preeclampsia risk . Taking it again now at 16 weeks for the same reasons, although second baby but I am happy to take it to reduce PE risk and had no side effects from the first time.
I took 75mg from 6.5weeks and then was told to increase to 150mg until 36 weeks. This is due to age (over 40) and to reduce risk of pre-eclampsia. I am 27 weeks tomorrow and still on them as prescribed. I stopped last week, only for a week as I was having bad nose bleeds.
