hi lovelies

I’m going to my best friend’s wedding tomorrow, I’m her MOH. I don’t want to announce my pregnancy yet. Any tips on how to survive the wedding and not get caught by not drinking?

💗

could you sneak in your own bottle of no alcohol wine? Or nosecco? And keep topping up that way? This is what I used to do or ask behind the bar for an non alcoholic cocktailxxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy, could you say your on antibiotics so you cant drink? x

Could you have a reason you need to drive there?

I used to have tonic with a bit of lime in it in a gin glass so it looked like a gin xxx

I would just say you’re driving, unless you’re staying there. If you are staying there, you can either use an excuse (antibiotics, stomach ulcer, migraines) or just blag by ordering your own drinks as mimics (lemonade with a slice, coke etc) and if someone offers you an alcoholic one you can just carry it around a while until you want a soft one then leave it somewhere. No one is going to be paying you that much attention in terms of scrutinising what you drink unless you tell them you aren’t having alcohol, and they def won’t notice if you aren’t physically drinking from your glass. As MOH you can say that you’re taking it easy so you have a straight head for bestie/cus you have a headache/are on some antibiotics before wedding/when getting ready… if you have prosecco just pretend to sip and chuck when noone is looking. Then for dinner/party as others said just get an imitation alcoholic drink and I doubt they’ll notice much anyways!

I accepted the glass of prosecco, and pretended to sip from it but didn't actually take any in my mouth. Every so often I'd nip to the loo and pour some away/find a plant pot/put the glass down and lose it. As everyone else gets more drunk they won't notice!! Good luck 🕵️😂 x

Hey,

This was me months ago! I just said that I’m not drinking at the moment, nobody needs to know the reason- it’s nobody’s business! I didn’t stress about it much!
