Will having an argument affect my baby

I feel so silly asking this but really just want some reassurance!

I'm 8w5d pregnant & we had our first scan the other day with a healthy heartbeat, measuring perfectly however my husband and I had an argument last night it stayed calm but towards the end for about half an hour it ending up in us both shouting/screaming at each other! It was stupid & we have sorted it but just it was just shouting nothing physical, I'm just really worried that I've affected my pregnancy/hurt the baby. I've felt rather crampy since the argument but we had ivf & i have been having a range of cramps from heavy, to light to non exsistent some days ever since our egg transfer! I'm just really worried we've messed up by having this argument, it seems silly to worry about it and cause more stress but I can't help it!

You will be fine. Constantly arguing and stress isn't good for either you/husband/baby but a one isn't likely to have any long term impact. Good luck x

yep you’re totally fine - so long as it’s not a consistent thing. If you do have another stressful moment and/or fight then you can l always practice some self-care afterwards (yoga, breathing, etc.)

Hi LunaSky. Youy baby can hear at 17/40wks. Try not to argue it’s not good for you either! Diane - Partner

please don’t beat yourself up. We’ve all had arguments with partners - it’s not nice and no one likes it, but it happens, especially with the stress and emotions of IVF and pregnancy.

It won’t affect the baby…. It’s constant stress that’s potentially problematic , not the occasional occurrence . 💪
