sorry if this is tmi but I’m wondering if these are normal pregnancy symptoms or something more untoward? I’m 7 weeks pregnant, no bleeding but have lots of sharp pain on one side, mostly when I go from standing to sitting. Also felt constipated this morning but this afternoon had diarrhoea, just generally feeling uncomfortable. I had a scan at 5+6 and everything was normal and they saw the start of the heartbeat but I can’t help worrying that something bad is going on. Doctors don’t seem too worried as I’m not bleeding or having shoulder tip pain. I have another scan booked on Wednesday. The waiting is killing me!

Tummy pain and bowel problems?!
Hi I am 10 weeks and have been having bowel issues from early on. Abdominal and pelvic pain. Loose bowel movements every day bloating indigestion, gas. I have been to the GP and had some tests- all normal resulta and I will have a follow up with them. I hope it's just the hormones and meds but neither the GP, the midwife or my clinic seem concerned so far. I just worry that I still absorb the nutrients that I need. Speak to your midwife or GP or clinic for reassurance. If I have learned anything so far is that they are there for all these questions.
Thanks for taking the time to reply, it’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one! I haven’t had my first midwife appointment, it’s impossible to get a doctor’s appointment and my clinic is abroad on summer shut down. The pain has eased a little today so just need to get through tomorrow and hopefully they can give me some advice at the scan
Hi Memacha, this is my first time ever being pregnant so definitely not qualified to say what is 'normal'(!) but I have had sharp twinges on both sides since my two week wait to varying degrees. Particularly bad if I stand up too quickly. I have also had some tummy issues. A bit of constipation and loose movements and bloating and cramps. I know during my period my tummy is the first thing to go so I just assumed it is the hormones and haven't asked about it. I'm 15 weeks now and doing fine so far x
Hi there, I had this early on too - sharp pains on one side (turned into both eventually). Mine were mostly when I got up quickly or was sitting for a while. It’s your ligaments already starting to prepare to stretch most likely. I’ve also had pretty bad abdominal pain from constipation, gas and being very bloated. These are all pretty common symptoms, though annoying lol. The tummy issues are definitely hormone related.
I'm glad I've read your post. I'm only 5 weeks but I'm going from constipated to loose movements..then bloat comes back with a vengeance. Today I think I've got a UTI managed to get a GP appt for them to check me over x
thanks everyone for replying. I had another scan today and devastatingly my worst fears came true, the heartbeat had stopped. And the timing of when the baby stopped growing links to when I had these issues.
