a bit of a follow up from my last post - I saw my consultant today and went through my 20 week scan and the scan I had recently at 26weeks. We found out that at the 20 week scan my placenta was covering my cervix and at my 26 week scan it has moved away from the cervix by 6mm. The consultant said this is classed as placenta previa and id need a c section if it doesn’t move to 2cm away from my cervix.
Im also having an MRI to see if it’s accreta and stuck to my uterus which is what I’m most worried about as she said this would lead to a more complex c section that would need more planning.
Has anyone else been in this situation? If my placenta is stuck then surely it wouldn’t move/have moved already?
thanks as always ❤️

Hi there - I realise this was a while back for you, but wondered how you got on in the end? I have today found myself in exactly the same situation and would appreciate any insight you might be able to share please? Thank you.
Hello! So I had to have an MRI at 28 weeks which showed my placenta was covering my cervix but wasn’t attached to it I had another scan at 36 weeks to see if it had moved which it hadnt budged an inch! It was then decided I’d have a c section a few days later at exactly 37 weeks which I was so nervous about but everything went smoothly and my baby was born healthy with no other complications. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me xxx
Thank you so much for your reply - ah that’s great news! So pleased things went well for you after what I’m sure was a very stressful time.
Yes, same here - my placenta was 4mm away from my cervix at 23weeks and hasn’t moved at all now at 32weeks.
I will be seeing my consultant in a few weeks to find out whether we are dealing with accreta too and pending the outcome of an MRI I will have more information on how serious it all is.
And thank you so much for the offer of a PM, it’s all a bit overwhelming at this stage so I really appreciate it. ❤️
