Bumps

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all well 😊

Bit random but is anyone further along and not really have a bump? I am 20wks on Wednesday and am not showing that much. Feel a bit like I ate too many take aways or too much cake.

Yes I know everyone carries different, it’s first baby, first pregnancy but it’s just a little unnerving.

Just want to know I’m not crazy and that things are probably okay.

Thank you in advance 🥰

Hey lovely, totally normal!I didn't really get a proper bump until about 25 weeks, before that I was the same and just looked like I had a food baby...

Everyone does carry differently too. I saw a friend recently who was 11 weeks ahead of me and our bumps were not that different - I was horrified - but then I am quite petite so we are just different shapes and sizes.

Try not to worry about it and enjoy this time because when you do get bigger everything is harder work!! xxx

Hi lovely,

hope it’s all going well!

Mate is it a minefield?! I knew from following you lovely lot they this journey would have its ups and downs but the constant worry and anxiety literally never stops and is exhausting.

Thank you this makes me feel a little better will be glad when I can feel it moving too. I too am petite so think this may be why I thought I might show more, quicker lol 😂 xxxx

The first trimester I found super stressful. I was anxious at every scan - I honestly believed each time that there would be nothing there… But it does get easier I promise. Try not to compare yourself because everyone is very different ❤️

I thought the same but soon enough you’ll be slipping in the most comfy maternity jeans in the world 🥰😬 xx

I found the first trimester ok. Stick to viability was challenging but 12-20wks has definitely been the hardest for me.

I went from viability at the clinic to an nhs scan within 3wks and then 2wks later had my 12wk so wasn’t much between appointments but 12-20 has been really hard. I honestly have thoughts that j will go to the scan and bad things will have happened, but just try to live in the joy of now, today.

I’m hoping I’ll relax a little when I feel some movements xxxx

You are not going crazy. There’s so much variation across bumps! I am 24 weeks and only just this last week has my bump started to look anything more than a massive lunch! I’ve just been trying to appreciate it, as I have struggled with pretty bad back pain in the past after an injury years ago, so guess the smaller bump at the moment probably puts less pressure on the back. Don’t think you need to worry, and you are defo not alone lovely xxx

Hey Picalilli99

Thank you and hope everything is going well!

We’re all so near to each other! How can something so wonderful and magical be so terrifying at the same time.?!

Thank you for that it’s nice to know I’m not crazy and not alone. This can all feel so isolating sometimes. Glad for my scan next week where hopefully I will see my not so little bean again and all will be well. Just waiting I guess for the bump to pop now. Hopefully won’t be long 😊😂 xxxx

Hey, I read that you have your scan next week so that’s good. I met a neighbour in Dec who I thought was barely showing but is due this month! At the time I was 15 weeks and thought I almost had a similar bump to her. So I’m sure everything is fine for you, and I’m convinced that I’m showing because I’ve eaten so much!!! 🤞 your scan goes well and soon you’ll be able to feel the little baby and then it will all be about that. Good luck! X

Thank you replying and sorry for my delay.

I’m looking forward to being able to feel it move as I do have bad anxiety and think it may help massively. Thank you xxx

FYI it took ages for me to feel anything - I think it was around week 20 and I was also anxious - I think it can take some time so don’t worry too much

Hey lovely

If I were you I would not stress about my belly size. I know I did for the completely opposite reason, my bump was huge but then I came across a couple of articles which reassured me. I hope you find it reassuring like I did. As already said, people are different. The main thing is that baby is fine.

It is completely normal on a first pregnancy to start showing later. I was around 6-7 months before I was showing with my son. I was a size 8-10 still too! This time I am pregnant with twins and started showing at 8 weeks. I'm now 19+3 weeks and I feel huge lol im not but I feel it compared to how I was with my son! Everyone is different and shows at different time. My babies started kicking at 12.5 weeks and I know that is very very early but its just another example how everyone is different. Try not to worry! Xx

Thank you for your reply!

Congrats on the twins! I hope that all is going well.

I can’t wait for it to start moving and to be able to feel it properly. Hoping it won’t be too long now. Unless my placenta is in the wrong place lol 😂 xx
