A bit concerned on high ast and alt

I had routine bloodwork done almost 2 weeks ago now AST 92 and ALT 172. My b12 was also extremely high, all other numbers normal. Has anyone experienced high numbers due to taking too many vitamins? I am wondering if that is throwing my ast and alt too high? I have been taking a lot of b12 thinking we don't store it, but apparently you do in your liver. I did keto at the beginning of the year but stopped and have just been trying to eat healthy in general. I feel like those numbers are so high and I don't have any symptoms of liver problems. Have follow up with my doc on Monday, way too long and has been stressing me out. Anyone with anything similiar?

I am early 50's and overweight but always working on it.

Thanks for reading

Have you previously been diagnosed with fatty liver? If not, I recommend you complete all test your doctor recommends and if you do receive a fatty liver diagnosis, find a specialist. Recommend a hepatologist over gastroenterologist, as hepatologist specializes in liver issues. My issue is that I carry weight gain in my stomach area. Your liver may be taking on fat and causing inflammation. The only way to stop the inflammation is to get the fat out of the liver by losing weight. I follow a diet that would be recommended for a diabetic as well as a low cholesterol diet. For me, getting my cholesterol down along with weight is key in controlling the situation. Start immediately to cut out anything that turns to sugar once it is in your body, alcohol, sweets, white bread, white rice, pasta. This reduces the fat and inflammation. I know in the past this helps me loose weight, but knowing these foods are like poison to my liver right now helps me to say no. Weight loss is key for you. If you can get the fat out of your liver, then your liver has a chance to heal. This site is great for good recommendations and support. I used to think I ate healthy, but if you have fatty liver, you really need to embrace a true healthy way of eating. You are most likely embarking on a journey, but if you follow the guidelines you may find yourself pleasantly surprised with the benefits that come along with a real healthy lifestyle.

I have read that there is a correlation between B12 and liver enzymes, stating that high B12 readings can affect liver enzyme readings. I am assuming your glucose, A1C and tryglicerids were normal by what you said. I would expect your Doctor may run more test or possibly change your B12 and recheck either way stay on it until you know for sure. Best to find out early enough to be able to turn it around. Good luck, keep us posted meanwhile work on your diet and get exercise. Try not to worry, that is hard believe me, I know but stress doesn't help.

I'm not sure. Is the liver not processing the,B12 Or is the B12 too high causing elevated enyzmes? Good question for the doc.

You have to be careful when buying supplements as some of them are triple and more of the MDA. I just bought a B-12 supplement online and it was 4167 % of daily value, B-6 was over 5882%. Also their is a difference between micrograms MC and Milligrams MG. Anyway, I will not take this huge dose of B vitamins as this throws off other body functions that cannot handle such a ridiculous dose.
