My fatty liver hurts

My fatty liver hurts every day. Anyone experienced that? Or it is consequences of my cholecystectomy and being out of sync with bile?

They will tell you the liver has no nerves, but it has a tough covering that has plenty so if your liver is enlarged or inflamed you may well feel pain on the right side under the ribs. There are a lot of things that cause pain, however, so you have to talk with your doc to try to be sure just what is causing it but it is common with NASH.

Yes!!! The pain is there most of the time. For a time, I could not sleep on my right side because the pain was too intense. My primary doc said the liver does not hurt. My liver doc said yes it can hurt because it is inflamed. He told me to purchase a "Tens" unit to help with the pain. You can get this at drug stores, over the counter. It is a device you wear. I have not done so as of yet. The pain has eased up, dull instead of intense pain. I think diet has a lot to do with how much pain we feel. I since cut back on carbs and that seems to help. All the best!

Best approach is to cut carbs as much as you can and increase unsaturated fats. Tens is usually a waste for most people as it can't reach deep enough. Diet is your best strategy

My liver dr told me to follow the Mediterranean diet with 50% carbs, 30% fats, 20% protein. Also, saturated fats should be between 7-10 grams. Below 7, not good for liver, and over 10 not good either. I’ve been following this advice. Am I doing it all wrong?
