Diabetic and Eye Damage
I have been insulin dependant diabetic for 40 years, which has been the cause of my
eye
conditions
. I was one of the first patients my consultant gave
eye
injection, I've had three steroid implants, lots of Lazer and eye injections.

DVLA vision test
I know I have glaucoma in one eye so when I filled out the form online I ticked the box for
eye
conditions
. I’m pretty certain that one of the questions was one or both eyes, I ticked one eye only. Few week later got the dreaded DVLA letter.

The most informative web page I have seen about vision loss after stroke is from the RNIB.

Switching color mode capability on this Headway site and their web pages may be a good idea for people with visual issues/ screen viewing.

Chromogenic Factor X Blood Test
Does anyone use this blood test, instead of or in conjunction with a Protime, to monitor their level of anti-coagulation? Successful? Many thanks for your responses.

GCA and what I learned today.....
First, I feel the hugs from around the world. xo I also learned that this wonderful forum is a safe place to unload my fears and experience what it was like to be 'really heard' and understood. My husband was talking to me about my upcoming visit to the rheumatologist on Monday and how I must explain

New drops- Tiopex 0.1 gel drops
Hello everyone,I've just been prescribed Tiopex 0.1 gel drops for in the mornings in addition to Brinzolomide 3 times a day and Lumigan at night. (This is to get my pressures down from 16 to ideally 12!) The leaflet says that l should use the other eye drop first, before the Tiopex. Hope this is okay

Had a trab 6 months ago and the blurry vision never disappeared. Now they want to do cataract surgery and I am hesitant as it may fail the trab surgery that was already done successfully. Cogan's syndrome
Hello! So I was diagnosed with Cogan's in Oct 23. It all started with severe ear pain after my second COVID vaccine which progressed to hearing and balance issues. This resolved after 3 weeks but I got the same symptoms again after my 3rd vaccine. Again this resolved but returned and gradually worsened

PV - Critical Illness insurance claim?
I was diagnosed with PV last year. I am struggling with work and feeling very anxious and realise I have a life with critical illness policy with LV but am not sure if PV is covered. It doesn't appear to be listed explicitly. LV boast that they meet the ABI guidelines for critical illness. Can anyone

My first Group 1 DVLA eye test
Hi, I joined this community a day ago to find out more about the test that the DVLA have asked me to take because I suffer from Glaucoma in both eyes. There is a lot of useful information here and it was good to read other people's experiences. I was very apprehensive, as so much rides on the outcome

NHS waiting time
I have recently gone private due to lack of confidence in NHS eye clinic. This sadly has proved correct following an optic nerve scan showed considerable loss of vision and that I need urgent operations. The consultant asked me whether I had a scan in nhs clinic I said maybe when I had cataracts op

Eye issues and tapering to 0 pred
Hello, two questions for you. One, has anyone has a retinal macroaneurysm? I was very recently diagnosed during a routine examination and wondered if it was common among PMR patients? I have had uveitis in the past. Two, I have tapered from 40 mg to 1 mg over the past 5 years for PMR. I am wondering

Yet another update on Swollen Eye
Back at Moorfields Eye Hospital today. It remains a mystery why my right eye has been such a problem. Good news is that it is better, however, eye pressure increased in both eyes now, (29 R and 21L). Face aches (not a joke) and heavy headache in the mornings which improves as the day goes on. In the
