Eye issues and tapering to 0 pred

Hello, two questions for you. One, has anyone has a retinal macroaneurysm? I was very recently diagnosed during a routine examination and wondered if it was common among PMR patients? I have had uveitis in the past. Two, I have tapered from 40 mg to 1 mg over the past 5 years for PMR. I am wondering what the taper looks like from 1 to 0. Should I go faster, slower than I have been? Can I go right to 0 or do I need to go to .5 mg first? My whole story is in my profile. Thanks, Jane

Re taper -always wise to go from 1mg to 0.5mg making sure okay before dropping to zero . And using a slower tapering plan .

No knowledge of retinal macroaneurysm -sorry.

Taper - the lower the slower!!! Treat this last stage as you did the rest with first 1/2mg and then zero as the new dose.

I don't think there is a link between PMR and retinal macroaneurysm. Uveitis CAN be linked to other autoimmune rheumatic conditions though though not usually PMR.

Not what you're looking for?
