Anyone had any experience of bed alarms to help with kids who wet the bed. Any success?

I’ve been using one with my 7 year old since about February. We’ve not completely cracked it yet but it’s been great. He’s gone from being totally wet once or twice every night to having a accident every 3/4 weeks. We’re definitely getting there!

Does he still wear the alarm now you’re down to an accident every 3/4 weeks?

Yes he does, although he’s not always very happy about it! He had a couple of accidents when we were either on holiday or he didn’t wear his alarm and he didn’t wake up. Although he’s made much better progress than we expected and sometimes gets up in the night for the toilet, he’s still a very deep sleeper and we’ve obviously not ‘cracked it’ yet. He’s also going on a school residential in March so that’s the aim. We don’t want him to go backwards.

The alarm doesn’t always wake him, but it wakes us and the advice we were given was that he should be the one to turn it off, so if it goes off, we wake him until he’s awake enough to do it. It’s been great!

Hi, we started with a bed alarm with my son who is 7 around Easter time (I think, my memory is terrible). He is not 100% dry in the day as he leaks a lot and is on senna for constipation.

Initially the alarm went off 3/4 times a night most nights, but then it started to get better and just before the summer holidays he was finally dry all the time (I said when he was dry 14 days in a row I would take it off). When we came back from holiday I felt he had slightly regressed while we were away and asked him to wear it for a couple of days and then it all went back to normal and he is dry again now.

I would personally not have believed it would work as his nappies were soaked and I know it doesn't for everyone but for us it has been very positive. It took a lot longer than the instructions or any reviews suggested but it did work. We used wet stop which I got from amazon, it has a sensor that I attach to his pants and then an alarm which is attached to his pyjama top, when it was hot and he just wore pants in bed I attached both bits to his pants.

Good luck
