Just want to scream :(

So I had my 1st lap a week and a half ago. They found endo and removed it all. I am now lying in bed in agony with my endo pain :( why hasn't it gone? If there is no endo there at the min then why is my back killing me? I'm really not understanding this disease. Can anyone shed any light? X

I had my lap four weeks ago and it's only this week I've felt back to how I felt pre lap, I have all my previous endo pain but its much worse as i had no endo removed as was told too extensive, but I still had pains after as was sterilised and had an ablation, and just being messed about with inside will cause pain, but I imagine having the endo removed will cause pain whilst it heals, so give it some time, a week and a half isn't much time, keep the pain killers regular and eat healthy to keep everything moving, but if lure concerned contact your doctor xx

Hi Worth, thanks for replying. My back is still really sore, the painkillers take away my lap pain but obviously don't touch the sides with my endo pain :( just like before. There is no point going to the doc because nothing takes the endo pain away :(

I have got some of that cerazette to start taking next week when I come on so hopefully that will help with the pain.

I guess I'm really confused, I thought endo was caused by bleeding retrograde? If they removed all the endo and I haven't bled yet then how do I have endo pain? I was going to use this cerazette to stop my mthly bleeding therefore stopping the bleeding retrograde? I thought I understood endo but now I'm lost x

i thought i understood it too hun, but i'm more baffled since being diagnosed with it than what i ever was before - you take care, rest as much as you can, it will get better but dont try to push yourself to do more, thats what i did, i assumed i should be back to normal after a week and tried to do normal things, and i've paid the price as my recovery has been much longer, i also found out that i've had urine infection since leaving the hosp, i knew i was weeing loads but assumed it was cos i was drinking so much water, but no, so some of my pain could be that too lol xx

You need to remember that your insides are going to be raw from removing the endo. I know the stitches outside heal really quickly, but inside takes weeks. It will feel like endo pain because it's the same locations that are aggravated.

It takes 4-6 weeks minimum to recover from a lap, sometimes a lot longer. You might feel a bit better within a week or two, but you are still on the recovery road. Also, just bear in mind that the first period you have post lap can be a lot heavier and more painful than usual - again it's just because your insides are still raw and tender.

Good luck x

Hi I had my lap nearly 4 weeks ago and asked the same question as was told I'd had some endo lasered but still in pain. Unfortunately I still have blocked tubes and lession so ill need another op and.guess this is still adding to pains, but I was assured that it takes longer to heal inside as they've irrated nerves and where the endo has been removed will take weeks to heal. I'm going back to doctors to discuss alternate pain meds and get some help to cope with it all. Keep resting and hopefullyit will start to ease over next few weeks. I had my period the week after lap and was painful as seemed to irratate everything so if your due on soon that probably isnt helping. I am still trying to get my head around it all so your not alone there but please ask your doctor for help if you feel you need it. X

I'm just commenting on this post in-case someone stumbles on it like I have wondering what to do or offering help.

I asked my specialist about the pain after op and was told that the body can't distinguish between endo pain and removal of endo pain, to the body it's the same nerves and same signal. Because we associate that pain with endo we think it hasn't gone, but the body is healing the areas where it was so it can hurt for a few weeks after.
