Huge, huge hugs to you. I know exactly how you feel. I have had the endo, the overactive thyroid the possible breast problem and then the letter with the abnormal smear test all at the same time and I feel like the walls are caving in on me. So hugs are all I can offer, and to say you are not alone!

Hi ConfusedGirl. Bless you Hun. I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. But don't be too upset Hun as sometimes smear test do come back abnormal but that doesn't always mean there's something serious. It could be due to medications/hormone reasons or some other unlying reasons. I know it's easy for me to say don't worry. But please don't panic & get your self all worked up. Wait till you see your consultant & hopefully they will give you the results that everything's ok. Why I'm saying this is a few years back. My smear came back abnormal too & when I saw my consultant they did another test & it came back normal. When I asked why it didn't show normal the 1st time. He said there could be many reasons. But most common ones are of the monthly periods/hormone inbalancement/medication. So I hope yours isn't serious & it could be due to theses reason. I wish you all the best & I'm praying you get good news Hun. Take care & Big Hugs to you x

Hi Confused Girl

I had two abnormal smear test in a row and the third one was finally ok so try not to worry. As other ladies say there are so many reasons the tests can be abnormal.

thanks very much ladies :) hope your all ok.. hugs to you all xxx

I had 2 abnormal smears in 2005, had colposcopy biopsy which showed CIN1 (first level of pre-cancerous changes. Went back for treatment in sept 2005 but found out I was pregnant. Had my daughter 12weeks prem in Feb 2006, then finally had the treatment (loop diathermy (heated/electrified loop of wire which cuts top of cervix off basically) in May 2006. All smears since have been normal, and I had a son in 2007 and a daughter in 2008 (both prem again but I seem to be prone to prem babies - 4 out of my 5 children have been prem, so nothing to do with the abnormality or the treatment)

I'm sure you'll be fine Hun. To be honest, for me, the treatment and biopsy were just a bit uncomfortable. The painful bit was a local anaesthetic in my cervix before the treatment!

Good luck x
