Bowel preperation?

Can anyone prepare me for when I have to take my bowel preperation? I am due to have my endo removed and a hysterectomy at the same time. It is bad enough worrying about that without wondering what sort of day I am going to have before :/

Hi miranda, it really depends on your hospital and surgeon, some give you a one off drink which clears you out, totally painless just a few visits to the loo and others give you a jug to drink, (it pretty yuk very sweet) it has the same effect and you will probably be on liquids only the day before. I've had it a few times and have felt fine apart from can't go to far from the loo for a few hours lol. good luck,

The bowel prep is ok, had it a few times, keep some babywipes with you in the loo, as it can get a bit sore going all the time. Good luck x
