Bloating !!

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone has had a bad experience wit bloating. I have looked like i'm pregnant for the last couple of weeks now and I don't know what to do to help it go away. As well as the Endo I have a cyst on my left ovary and a fibroid on my uterus and wonder if they had anything to do with it.

Hi chell

This is known as the Endopod (this might not be a strictly technical term! LOL!)

It's one of the main endo symptoms. It's really annoying when you can't get your jeans done up, and even more so when people actually ask you when the non-existent baby is due, but as long as there's no new pain with it, it's nothing to worry about it. We've all been there. Thank God for leggings with elasticated waists!!

It will probably disappear as quickly as it came, and then you'll wake up again with it one morning out of nowhere, there is no rhyme or reason to it

I am sure that the other ladies will probably have remedies for it, but when it happens to me I just get my leggings and loose tops out :)

I bloat and have done for years. In the morning I look flat but by the evening I have gone up 2 holes on my belt. ISo yes, I too live in leggings and baggy tops. It used to be worse before my endo diagnosis and my GP's just told me it was IBS and sent me home on codine. At one point, before I treated myself for parasites from the heath food shop, it was so painful I couldn't sit upright or walk and yet I had taken so many drugs that my face was numb. I have been taking large doses of codine everyday for 1 year 10 months out of the past 3 years and just get it on repeat prescription now, so at least the doctors don't have to listen to me anymore.. oh joy.. for them.. obviously! xx

Things that may help you...

Probiotics (friendly bacteria)

Not eating fruit at same time as other food, or as a desert... really helps me!

Cutting back on sugar, dairy and processed food

Accupuncture

Good luck x

I have really bad bloating too and I have been recommended Castor Oil.

You rub it on your tummy, or soak it into a dishcloth (clean, obviously) and lay it on your tummy; then put another layer on your tummy (Kitchen Towels will do the job, or a tea towel); then lay a hot water bottle on the bloated tummy.

It is supposed to take the swelling down within half an hour. I havent tried it yet, but Ive bought the Castor Oil to give it a try the next time it gets bad.

i also suffer with really bad bloating or football belly as i call it. I always use a hot water bottle if i am at home as this seems to help with the pain as well. like most of us i seem to live in leggings and i have jeans in different sizes so i have something to wear whatever the belly size. Roll on summer - at least floaty dresses are more forgiving

I often take hot peppermint cordial when I am in a lot of bloating discomfort and it sometimes eases the feelings a little. Someone also recommended Indian Brandee, which tastes disgusting but I have a teaspoon of that in some hot water with some sugar and again it sometimes helps x
