I just wondered if anyone had experience of coming off ryeqo?
I was prescribed it 4 months ago but it has given me severe depression, mood swings, weight gain, sore and tender breasts, nausea and severe bloating- basically every adverse effect. I seem to be overly sensitive to synthetic hormones, in particular progesterone, I’ve tried many many different types over the years and have always had similar side effects.
I can’t get an appointment with my clinician any time soon, but I’m desperate to stop taking it. All of the evidence suggests I can discontinue without having to taper the dose, so if you have stopped taking Ryeqo, did you just stop?
Just wondering how long it took for hormones to balance out again?
And if anyone could offer any advice on how to feel well again?
Thanks ☺️

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this and unfortunately I don’t have any advice.
I’m experiencing similar in terms of depression- can I ask you a couple of questions? Apologies if they are too personal you don’t have to answer. -are you on antidepressants alongside ryeqo? -have you suffered/been suffering from depression before?
I am on sertraline for general anxiety, that was known before I started taking ryeqo. I would say yes, I have suffered from depression before but not as its own condition as a symptom of another condition. I was diagnosed auDHD as an adult and I think I may have been misdiagnosed with depression as a teen.
This is something completely new and overwhelming however. I’m just numb- like I don’t have the ability to feel much of anything at all.
I wonder if there is a correlation between Sertaline and ryeqo. I’m on the highest dose of sertraline for depression and anxiety and I felt fairly stable but then I started taking ryeqo and I’ve started feeling quite low again.
It’s awful feeling like that and I do hope you find some release from it
Difficult to say isn’t it! Thank you. I’ve decided to stop taking it. All of the side effects together were too much. I hope things settle down for you soon too!
