Had my first extensive excision Laparoscopy 4 weeks ago with a BSGE specialist.

Had my first period post lap 2 days after my surgery.

Had really severe pain, swelling, bruised feeling, tenderness and inflammation for 2-3 weeks post op. Then pain got much better until now, 4 weeks post op. Period is due. Feeling much worse again, I was really hoping my periods would improve post op, I guess because it’s still early days I shouldn’t be expecting much? Any reassurance?

Are there any women on this page who got through post extensive excision laparoscopy periods without taking hormones to stop them and it got better?

How did you cope with the pain and did anything help?

mine are slightly better than they were 6 months after surgery. Still painful but feels more manageable taking pain relief whereas before it didn’t touch it. I definitely didn’t noticed a difference for the first 4 months. It hasn’t made any difference to heavy bleeding though which is disappointing.
