Endometriosis laparoscopy excision

Hi all,

Need some advice I had a laparoscopy in January, endometriosis was detected. I've been for a follow up appointment today to discuss my options. I feel like the appointment was rushed and I didn't get to ask questions. So some feedback from people that have had a laparoscopy excision to remove endometriosis would be a great help. My main symptoms which are a week before my period and during are back pain, endo belly, fatigue, heavy periods, and basically feel like I can't function. Would having this op help with these symptoms?

Heya hun, I had my lacroscopy in December last year and my symptoms have been worse since my surgery sadly. Are you seeing a BCGE specialist thats what has been suggested for me to do darling, might be a good path for yourself aswell. Hope you start to feel better soon xx

My symptoms definitely got better after the lap. The biggest difference was the endo belly and bowel movements - great improvement. Unfortunately after a year, after pregnancy and a few months on no meds, things got back to its old ways...

That's good to know the endo belly is one of my many symptoms. That's what puts me of I've read many stories were people have said it has come back X

Hi there, I had grade 3 endo, very bad and the only thing that helped me was excision surgery and zoladex injections every so often so I could have a break from the pain. The first excision surgery was life changing, it was never as bad after that. Hope that helps. Plus 10 days after surgery you're pretty much back to normal. I would definitely recommend it.

I had the zoladex injections, for some reason it make me continuesley bleed. The consultant said it was very strange. Unfortunately I had to stop, thanks for the info. X

Sorry to hear that. I know that some women really benefit from the coil but I never tried it. Surgery should definitely help though. Hope it goes well x
