online preop?

I have been on the waiting list for a specialist to removed stage 4 endo for just under a year, I've tried to chase the secretary and had 0 help, tried PALS and had nothing in response. My NHS app still says I'm on a waiting list... but I've just had a text to fill in my online assessment before my procedure

It was definitely genuine and seemed to be a preop... but I have heard ZILCH about a surgery date? I've mentioned that in one of the sections, I have a holiday booked early Jan. I'm also just a bit surprised as I would have assumed the surgeon would need to have an up to date ultrasound or MRI to see the condition now - instead of a year old scan?

Does anyone know how long it took from this question assessment 'preop' to actually having a surgery?

Thanks :) sorry, jst slightly panicking!

I got the online form to complete, then following week was booked in to go in for pre op tests, then the op the week later. I think it can be months between sometimes though depending on severity/capacity.

They don’t take new scans from my experience. Since they’re going in anyway that’s the best visual they’ll get it would just add an additional delay.

Call the gyne department, keep calling. It sounds like they have reached your turn in the queue in which case booking office will have been instructed to contact you re. Surgery date. This would happen once the online form is completed. You could call the booking office to check this. I’d also make a secondary complaint to the pals team re. their lack of response. They’re obligated to address your complaints usually in writing within a certain timeframe, it’s unacceptable to have no response.

You’ve honestly got to manage them, it’s a second job!

Wow that is quite fast!!! 😲 I'm not sure it will be as fast for me, considering then that would be around Christmas I have the surgery 😭 but I have a holiday booked early January so it will have to be after I come back from that.

I'll try the secretary today although from previous calls I either wasn't answered or they had no idea what I was even doing ringing 😂 thank you for your reply 💜

I've never had scans as part of a pre-op. Usually it is assessing your general fitness for anaesthetic. So height, weight, bp, bloods.

Hello

I was put on the list in January. I filled the forms in online in March. I was unavailable for surgery in April/May. I should have gone in at the end of October but my husband had major surgery and needed care. Plan is now End of Dec/Jan time. I will be having a stoma reversal after during last year’s hysterectomy my bowel was found stuck to my womb with endometriosis. Bit of a muddle time line but Hope that’s some idea to help.
