Laparoscopy

Hi all.

I had my Laparoscopy Surgery on the 26th October. The purpose of the surgery was to remove my left ovary and tube together with the large endometrioma. When I came round after the procedure I was told by the Consultant that he he could not remove any of it as it is all stuck to my uterus and bowel. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

The Consultant said he would see me in a few months but this is all I can remember him saying as I was still under the influence when he came to see me in recovery.

I am yet to receive an appointment to review but I am at a loss as to what can be done. I hate the thought of having this large cyst in my body that could potentially rupture or turn into something nasty.

Any advice?

Thanks x

You could try and contact the doctor again via the hospital or PALs just so you go can go over his feedback once again. Best of luck x

Definitely contact PALS. I was also question if he’s actually skilled enough to do proper removal or not

The same happened to me. Because the cyst was so stuck though there was no danger of tortion/twisting. If they proceeded it would be highly likely they would need to remove part of the bowel and I would need a stoma bag. I was only diagnosed with endometriosis after this though. I saw a consultant quickly (very lucky and managed a cancellation) and it would depend on how much pain etc you are in and if you manage it. I hope you get seen/sorted soon x
