Hi everyone, this is a bit of a different post for me and please let me know if this isn't allowed.
Basically, since my first surgery in June my symptoms have not got any better, in fact some of them are worse and I have recently found out that the surgeon who did my lap (who told me she removed all the endo found) actually left a lot of Endometriosis on my bowel and diaphragm. I therefore need a second surgery much sooner than expected otherwise I risk lung collapse and a possible stoma bag 💔
I, like most people, cannot afford to have the surgery done privately with my amazing specialist, so am having to endure the NHS waitlist all over again on a few months after last time and I am at the point now where my mental health is completely ruined, I am barely making through and a lot of the time don't want to be here.
My wonderful friend, Jess, who I met through online Endometriosis forums, has decided to walk the equivalent of 10 marathons in 57 days to try and raise the money for me to be able to have my surgery privately which will be much quicker and better care. She has started a GoFundMe and has already raised £3,000 which is 30% of the target in only 5 days. Jess recently had a hysterectomy in August and has been on medical leave for almost 3 months so the fact that she is setting herself this challenge so soon after is extremely brave and impressive and I can't quite believe that someone would do this for me.
We have been contacting as many people/companies we can think of to try and help spread the word and she suggested I post the link on here in case anyone would be able to share it.
As I said, please let me know if this is not allowed and I will remove the post.
This forum has been such a supportive place for me during my endo journey and it's really helped me at many times when I've felt completely lost, so thank you all for creating a safe space.
