Desperate to find best laparoscopy specialist who is recognised nationally for his/her endometriosis surgery as well as having endometriosis as his/her special interest.

We do not mind how far to travel or even pay privately. Our daughter is desperate for treatment and is at the bottom of the waiting list for local gynaecology appointment.

I am aware of the BSGE centres and the criteria that they have to achieve accreditation but there is still a big difference in the expertise of individual specialists within those centres. Our GP is happy to refer to any specialist privately but has very little knowledge " who is the best in the field"

I would be very grateful if anybody could message me privately with their experiences and knowledge.

check out Nancys nook - there’s a list. Dr Barton-Smith and Dr Khazali are both on there x

For balance, I would just like to mention that Nancy’s Nook doesn’t seem to be big on negative/honest critical feedback reviews, so for a fuller picture I recommend FB groups that allow full and frank discussion of patient experiences, both good and bad. x

Hi

They don’t like names on here but there is a Facebook endometriosis UK site that you can ask these types of questions. You’re right about BSGE and differences in consultants.

Has she had an MRI? That’s useful as well. You can refer yourself for these if paying. Look up online for MRI it’s often cheaper than going directly to a private hospital. If you do pay do abdomen as well as pelvic just to make sure it’s not spread. A rough guide I paid £400 three years ago for two parts.

Hope you get something sorted for your daughter soon.

Hi I have been referred to Pinderfields and currently awaiting my appointment following an MRI. I will be seeing Dr Oboh who is part of the same clinic as Dr Kremer. Do you have any experience with him at all?

Hi lovely, I don’t unfortunately. I do know that dr kremer is the mid Yorkshire lead for endometriosis and is a endo specialist. If you could get under him I’d highly recommend. Xx

Hello

I'm new on here but I'm not new to endometriosis. I have endured this vile condition since I was 15. The one surgeon I have found to be great is Mr Kent in Guildford at the Royal surrey county hospital. Yes I have had 6 operations, but that is only because I had stage 4 Endo. I have had a 5 year gap where I had normal periods and a life, but now it has grown back and I know I'll be having more surgeries. I would recommend Mr Andrew Kent.
