Hi everyone, what forms of exercise do you all engage in?
I currently do Pilates weekly which I love and is great for strengthening.
A few weeks ago I tried running again and then developed a burst cyst on my ovary which has resulted in some of the worst pain ever. I don't know if the two are connected but I'm still signed off work and can't walk far let alone run at the moment. So not rushing back to that any time soon.
I'm concerned about bone strength in particular but also muscle wasting as I'm being put into induced menopause and awaiting an oophorectomy which will make that permanent.
Any advice/thoughts are welcome!
Thanks

I'm in a similar situation and would like to know answer to same question! Just came out of hospital but hoping I'm well enough to join local pilates class next week, have been on few easy walks but not sure if I should get back on treadmill and would love to get back to local hikes, but not sure if I should
I found gentle walks and yoga good when my endo was bad. I couldn't do anything that pulled or was too high impact. Once things eased, I could do dancing which seemed to help.
How long have your endo flare ups lasted? I'm on week 4 or 5 at the moment, quite possibly worsened by a burst cyst, but it's taking so long to recover 😔
I try to do a two mile walk every day (just laps around the local park or neighbourhood). I've found that this can help make the pains a bit easier to deal with when I am having a flare up. I'm not sure if that's due to the psychological benefit of the walking or due to a reduction in inflammation, which I've read walking can help with, but it does seem to help. If the flare up is bad is doesn't help much but does help me sleep etc so helps in that way. Since I've been doing this walking my blood pressure has improved (it was borderline high) and it helps hugely with mental health. I recently started a bit of strength training at the gym, relatively low weights at the moment. That did seem to trigger a bit of pain sadly, but I'm going to keep trying and see if it improves. On a break from that right now as recently had excision surgery. Felt great after each gym session and of course it should help with bone density which would be a real win as I'm heading into the perimeno phase currently.
