Hello all,

I'm writing to share my experience with this medication. In Australia it has the brand name Slinda, but I am aware in other countries it has a different brand name, the active ingredient / drug however is the same - drospirenone.

I have stage IV endo and adenomyosis. I was told this was a newer progesterone only pill, so was eager to try it. Unfortunately for me, it didn't work and has created further problems. It reduced my oestrogen so much that I started to feel menopausal systems. Night sweats, light headedness, foggy brain and all over aching. Having been on Zoladex (which stops oestrogen all together) many years before hand I was reminded of these symptoms. I believe the overall achiness is due to how it has affected my bones, as I experience the same thing on Zoladex.

Doing some research into it, I saw on the American consumer medical information leaflet they mention a side effect is bone density loss. However on the Australian one, they claim there is no evidence of this.

I have since stopped using it. I am wondering what others have experienced on this drug?
