First Gynae Appointment

hi everyone, is it normal to be referred straight for a laparoscopy at your first gynae appointment?? My appointment was at Worcester Hospital and the doctor gave me no time to talk about my symptoms and i felt like a piece of meat, he told me to stop researching because ill convince myself i have symptoms??? Just an awful experience and i have nowhere to go now if i dont want surgery as the first option.

just had my first appointment and been given an appointment for a laparoscopy too.

My understanding is that it is the only exam available right now to explore and look for endometriosis. That’s how you’ll get your diagnosis. I think it is a pretty standard procedure to see if endometriosis is there and what can be done or removed depending on the stage.

This is reassuring thank you, i think i just hoped to be able to talk things through first a bit more with the doctor because i have a few questions 😊

Thats actually a good thing . I keep getting fobbed off with different medications wish they would just operate on me as I've had enough . Good luck x
