Hi, I had a laproscopy on 22nd of may, in prep for my hysterectomy. I was told that the team needed to catherterise me on the table in the procedure. since this I have had terrible pain when passing urine, and a very heavy full feeling deep in my abdomen. feel like my ureters are bruised etc.
GP has given me some Abx, but I have never experienced this post op before or after a catheter.
Has this happened to anyone else? Its so sore and painful.

I had a catheter during hysterectomy, I can’t remember feeling sore, but it might have been.
I would suggest if meds don’t work go back to GP but also contact the consultant and ask their advice. Do you know if you had Endo on bladder or ureters?
it’s only been a few days since your lap. I wouldn’t be too concerned. Hopefully it will ease.
yes, I agree, just feel anxious about it. forgot what recovery could be like I think.
I had issues post excision in Feb! I also had a cystoscopy but it took a week for me to have to stop physically pushing out urine and then it gradually got easier. It’s likely irritation from the catheter more than anything.
I had the same thing - everyone said it was nothing - turned out to be a UTI from the catheter which needed two rounds of antibiotics. Ask your GP for a urine test.
HI, thanks for your reply. Have doe and was seen today, blood and protein in my urine, she said could be a trauma from the catheter. Finding recovery from this lap and excision rough going.
hun am same I had catheter I had my op on 13 may last week I got antibiotics for a kidney infection have nearly finished antibiotics but I’m still in a lot of pain in my urethra and my left kidney x
