Pain 1 month post lap

Hello everyone,

This probably isn't anything that hasn't been posted before but, I had my laparoscopy on the 3rd of March and I still have awful lower back pain which sometimes spreads into my right hip.

They found superficial endometriosis in various places (including the pouch of douglas) and it was excised.

Is this normal? My family aren't terribly supportive and either ignore me or tell at me that 'I should be better by now'.

I'm trying not to take too many painkillers for it but nothing I do seems to have an effect on it.

Be happy to hear from someone who has had a similar experience.

Do you have a follow up booked? If not might be worth leaving a message for the consultant.

Two months on I’m still having issues so probably not the best person to give advice.

Not until September... My surgeon does a 6 month follow up. Hope you feel better soon 💕

I’m now over 8 weeks post lap and still have pain. This is just my opinion but from reading on here and my own experience I think everyone just heals in their own time. My pain is now similar to my endo pain before I had my lap so it’s a pain I’m familiar with and it doesn’t alarm me. I’ve read that the body takes time to recognise the absence of endo and so still feels pain. My consultant told me to expect the healing process to take anywhere between 6 and 12 months! I would email the consultant and describe your pain and ask if this is normal etc. If things get worse or you feel they are not right contact your gp. Hope you start to feel better soon x

I had my lap 21st December and although it's taken most of the pain away I still get pains in my hips back and have trouble with constipation bladder pain its mainly in a morning but yesterday it was all day I'm still on pain relief every day I was hoping it would all be gone by now ☹️ I hope your pain goes away soon xx
