Hey guys!
I had a diagnostic laparoscopy a week ago and I keep experiencing pain in my bladder and sharp cramping when trying to wee. Is this a normal thing for after surgery?
This is my op so I’m just unsure.

Worth giving your GP a ring - sounds like it might be a urinary tract infection. They can give antibiotics which should clear it up quickly if it is that.
If you had a catheter put in during the surgery then that increases the risk of UTIs and also can just straight up irritate the bladder as well which can be uncomfortable until it heals.
And if it's not the above, it's also possible the nerves in that area have just been irritated by the surgery, which can also cause all sorts of weird pain or sensations. It's not "normal" in so much as any new pain isn't expected, but it is common to have minor complications post surgery from all the poking and prodding and rearranging they do while they're looking around. They normally resolve for most people but might take a couple of weeks.
Best of luck with your recovery!
Hey, I hope you’re recovering well. I had my laparoscopy three weeks ago and I experienced the same pain, I went to my GP as I thought it was a UTI but it wasn’t. I was told it could be from the instruments used causing internal bruising. I also had some of the endometriosis burned away so it could be pain from that. It was bad the first two weeks, but week three now and the pain has eased a lot. Hope this helps x
It's definitely worth going to your GP. I had a lap for a cystectomy and excision 2.5 weeks ago, and had a catheter in for 2 days. The nurse at hospital said some stinging etc was normal for a couple of days post-catheter, but I had to go to my GP today because it's still happening on and off. She was able to do an initial test of my urine sample there and then, which indicated a UTI, and I'm on antibiotics now (and awaiting results of a proper lab test for confirmation). It's a relief as I was worried something else from the surgery was causing the pain! Definitely get it checked out for peace of mind.
