bowel resection

please has anyone had bowel resection surgery ? My Doctor just told me that I would need a bowel resection.

hun am due one this year some time. Not sure when last year was told a year as have to have a coleractal surgeon as well as endo consultant

I have been told I needed one by one consultant but when I raised my fears with another consultant they said I could opt out of that part. I need a hysterectomy and endometrioma/endometriosis taken out too. You would need two specialist surgeons, this is also the reason ive opted out as it would be a much longer waiting list with 2 surgeons.

I talked to one lady, she had the same operation 2 weeks ago and can walk outside already. She hasn’t got a colostomy bag. Her operation lasted for 7 hours 💛

Hi, I had a bowel resection and disection my cervix and uterus was attached to the bowel with adhesions also. There was a lot of other things going on and I had MTD surgery lasted over 8 hours . On the bowel front I was fine no stoma bag ,they have to warn you of that but I was told it is in very severe circumstances. As for normality inthe bowel region I think within the week it was as normal as could be . Obviously laxatives will be prescribed after surgery until your usual routine come back . I know it’s hard not to but try not to worry to much . take care
