When did you wear normal clothes post lap??!

I’m really finding normal trousers/leggings (forget jeans entirely!!) uncomfortable to wear still and am now 6 weeks post op. I just feel I am easily bloating despite trying all the recommended dietary advice and my incisions still feel tender when something pressing into them (I still have scabby areas and bumps under the skin). Is this normal? I’m normally a skinny jeans kind of girl and size 8 but currently wearing size 12 joggers and medium leggings! Anyone felt the same and when did it eventually settle? Thanks xx

I feel exactly the same although I'm only 3 weeks post op.. was wondering when it might settle down as it's frustrating and sore!

I’m about 7 weeks post op and I can wear jeans at a push but I’m sticking to dresses while back at work so when I’m sitting there’s no waist band to dig in!

I would say there’s no normal time to get back to jeans pop op but if something is feeling really off for you or not ‘normal’ then maybe speak to your gp or surgeon for peace of mind ❤️

I’m just over 4 weeks post op and wore trousers for the first time at work yesterday but ended up having to undo them as soon as I got into the office so I totally understand this! I was starting to think I’d somehow put on weight but the scales say otherwise so I think it must be residual swelling or bloating. I have read several threads that suggests it takes a good few weeks or even months to settle fully, so hope it feels better for you very soon.

3 weeks post op and have given up on getting in any trousers. Only thing I am comfortable in are jumper dresses, and even with those I have to have my tights hiked up to my ribs or pushed down below my waistband. I am trying to go without dressings on my stitches but I'm so clumsy keep knocking my stitches. I was going to go to the supermarket and got so fed up I couldn't fit into anything I wouldn't freeze in I just did a deliveroo order for the basics until I'm in a better frame of mind to get dressed and get out!

Bless you I can definitely relate. I felt hopeful today though as I’m getting to 8 weeks now and it looks like things are slowly better and I actually felt reasonably normal when I woke. Still bloating soon as I eat or drink but it’s progress! Hope it settles for you soon!
