try not to panic. It maybe that you need a MDT present for the surgery. It could be that the surgeon isn’t a bsge specialist and you require one as the endo may not be superficial and may need a specialist. Just try to stay as calm as possible as stress is a trigger for endo and really doesn’t help. Easier said than done I know! If you wanna scream shout or just generally let some fears or frustration out then feel free to pm me :)

I hope you’re ok xx

Thank you so much - your words mean so much to me right now, had a good old cry earlier. The thing is the gynaecologist didn’t even say the MRI was a must, just good to have and that she was happy with the ultrasound as I have a chocolate cyst. Now finally mentally prepared for surgery and this happens. I will try and not stress but god, it’s so so difficult right now. Will speak to the medical secretary tomorrow morning to see if she can shed any light.

Chances are she won’t be able to explain anything as it’s a medical issue and the dr will need to explain. That was my findings while going through the process.

I had an MRI just to try rule out endo as my ultrasound showed a bulky uterus so they had to check. Best practice. Sadly it came back with adeno and endo. It maybe that you have both conditions as well so they may need to discuss other treatment options before surgery.

Yes it’s really hard not to stress - trust me I know - but your health comes first and stress is a big factor in endo and can cause a flare up and make things worse so try not to worry until it’s absolutely necessary xx

I thought so too. As they aren’t medically qualified.

What is Adeno?

Thank you for your kind words xx

adenomyosis is the evil twin sister of endometriosis. It’s like endo but the endo grows into the muscle of the uterus. So it basically makes it larger than it should be. I think I’ve had it for quite a while as when I look back on my pregnancy when I was 29 I had signs of it then with my placenta and baby being very small
