advice after surgery/ any advice on natural remedies or how to slow the regrowth of endo?

I had my surgery on Wednesday to investigate my bladder pain. Turns out my bladder is clear but I had a chocolate cyst inside my ovary, and my ovary was stuck to my pelvic wall. I had a different surgeon from before, who indicated that my surgery wasn’t performed properly last time. So I am unsure if my endo had grown back quickly or it got missed before (my last surgery was only six months ago). Either way, I’m relieved that there’s an explanation for my pain. I also have the coil now, so I am hoping that it helps too.

Does anyone take any natural remedies? And have any you’d recommend? Or anything that has helped your symptoms? (I am open to literally anything). I’ve seen myoovi do lots, and I have the myoovi tens machine, which seems to help when the pain isn’t severe.

I also just wanted to say thank you all for your ongoing support. You guys take time out of your day to reply, and it really makes me feel less alone with endo 💛

Hi some nutritionists recommend diindolylmethane as a way to keep estrogen in check. I think you get this from brocoli and cabbage too. The pain in your hands is probably due to lowering estrogen levels. I started zoladex last week and I've noticed all my peri menopause symptoms (including pain in hands) return. With regards to how long you can stay on it. My consultant says it's the licensing laws that specialist clinics manage to get round. This is why there is so much conflicting information out there. If you are under an endometriosis clinic then they can prescribe it long term. Some women with PMDD have to be on this injection just to function. Hope that's helpful x

Hi

Worth buying yourself a copy of Katie Edmonds Heal Endo book. Totally on point and the studies behind the recommendation stand up well. My key go tos are high quality Omega 3 , Mediterranean type diet, Reservatoral, quercitin, B12 and B 6 with an all inclusive B supplement. Make sure your diet is magnesium and calcium rich, plenty of protein. Milk Thistle I use to support my liver to clear out the by products it gets bogged down with. I don’t do lactose and am allergic to eggs anyway. Vegan is the hardest diet to manage endo on . Some folk find Sodium Dicholoacetate ( see the Edinburgh trials) a boon, others NAC . Berberine also has a well documented reduction action on lesions with its action on insulin and progesterone receptors but if your testosterone levels are low anyway that can be more of a struggle.

It’s also really key not just to see it as supplements/ diet approach but also the physical set up. Traditional methods of pelvic floor work - it kegels type approach - and popular core work often do more damage than help here. Try @corerecoverypt as part of your package. There’s a great discussion between Dr Angie Muller and Leah Brueg on her podcast number 56 or 57 that’s sooo worth the listen. @leah.brueg

I found an anti-inflammatory diet really helped my endo symptoms along with taking out wheat and sugar which really flare things for me. Working on managing stress is a big factor too as that can make endo worse.
