Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

Hi,

I had a laporoscopy on Saturday and despite all the symptoms I’ve had since I was 14 (I’m now 32), they found no endometriosis. I felt so emotional and confused at first when he told me because all the typical symptoms suggested endo and I thought not only would I finally have an answer but some of it would potentially have been removed too. So to wake up and him say no endo found I felt very deflated.

Anyway, he did say he found varicose veins and said that they would be the reason for my pain. He said I need surgery to remove them but that I’d need to be referred to a different department for that (I think it was urology and another department). He also mentioned Pelvic congestion syndrome which I have never heard of before. I wondered whether anybody on here has that and whether the symptoms are similar to endo? Thanks in advance.

I have heard of that , I read a newspaper story about a girl who had all the typical endo symptoms but it turned out to be that. She went to a very famous Swiss doctor who specialises in treating it, he did something the block off some veins and completely fixed it. It seems to be something you get treated and that's it no more trouble. So that's much better than endo. You must have a really good doctor to have picked it up most of the time it doesnt get noticed. I can't give the name but there is a Swiss clinic that specialises in Nueropelvology which is the leader in this area. You could google them and contact them, I think their treatment will be super expensive but they will be able to recommend any UK specialists who deal with it, and you could try to find out more from them. I think the Swiss centre traina few UK specialists. Good Luck.
