I had lap and excision over 7 weeks ago. But I'm still experiencing random pelvic pain. Is this normal 7 weeks post endo excision surgery? Does it get better?

Please can someone reassure me
hey, I had laparoscopic endometriosis surgery 8 weeks ago but I also had a hysteroscopy on Friday just gone. Still having pain but it should hopefully dissipate soon. My specialist said it can be normal to be sore for upto 3 months. Depending on how much was done. Hopefully you feel better soon, but if you’re worried I’d recommend contacting your specialist xx
Hope your hysteroscopy went well. Okay thats good to know that it can take up to 3 months for pain to settle. Sorry to hear you're still in pain also. Is your pain like how it was before surgery? Xx
Sadly it’s getting back to pre surgery levels but I caught an infection so that could be causing more issues. On antibiotics now so hopefully will see some improvement soon. I really would recommend seeing your gyny specialist if you’re still in pain though as it could be something they’ve missed xx
Hey, I read an article that pain after the surgery can be caused by scars forming in the belly. Pelvic stretches can both prevent them and reverse them. I started 30 min of yoga daily about 2 weeks ago and the pain is gone. Maybe it is worth a try?
Second this, I started restorative yoga from the week 2 post-op, it really helps, just go in really small steps
It does get better. It takes quite a long time to heal . Try not to push yourself too hard . Support yourself with good food, enough sleep gentle movement and exercise. I love these two folks for great information and sensitive ways to cherish yourself @corerecoverypt and @heal-endo ( she’s got a book in the same name which is fab ) Plenty of friends and funny films 🍿 😍
No I wasn’t , that’s not everyone’s story though , with being older and the problem long neglected it was always unlikely to be the wholesale answer. It’s why I’ve also worked on other aspects of things. Surgery is only one part of the jigsaw - albeit very important. I think it’s better to hold an idea that recovery or improvement can be on a sliding scale as so many of us have variables that we can’t and shouldn’t measure ourselves against others. I also think it’s unrealistic to expect surgery to fix it all as a magic wand. It’s a complex disease that needs good management in a number of ways and it’s wrong of medics to tout their particular bit as “the answer” etc . Our response is so individual, our treatment pathways can be blessed with fabulous medics that do the right thing for us let alone the poor ones, the ignorant ones and the well meaning but useless ones that really mess it up !
The one thing that is unique is you and listening to your inner self , that gut feeling is always going to be absolutely key. Trust yourself and you won’t go far wrong.
