MRI with contrast or without

Hi,

My gynae consultant is querying whether I have endometriosis, she said she wanted me to go for MRI with contrast first before laparoscopy, but when I have received my appointment it is MRI without contrast does this matter?

Thanks ☺️

You want the contrast if possible as it will help give a clearer view of what is there. I would query whether they’ve made a mistake given your consultant said they wanted you to have contrast.

Hi there. I was scheduled to have an mri and they tried 11 times to get contrast in. My veins are tricky sometimes and it was first thing in the morning when I was also cold and prob a bit dehydrated so they abandoned the need for contrast and said they could still get good imaging.

Hello,

With contrast would be better as it would help doctors view the organs better. Perhaps you could try to give them a call to see if you could do it with contrast?

Take care,

I would ring up just to double check that they've got things right on their end. Every mri that I had was with contrast bar 1 which they redid due to it not being clear enough.
