Has anyone had an MRI with dye?

I have an MRI scan tomorrow and have to be injected with the contrast dye. Has anyone ever had this? I'm not good with needles or injections. Where do they inject you to get it into your vein? What does it feel like? I'm worried it'll hurt or leave bruises.

Hello! I actually have had this done before. All they do is do an MRI without the dye first, and then with. When you have the second picture with dye, they just do it through an IV (at least thats what I remember them doing for me). I had no reactions at all. It shouldn't be bad :)

Hi I have had this done a few times now nothing to worry about😉. They just put a iv in my hand so the dye could go in, the only thing that was a bit weird was you get the feeling like you have wet yourself warm but you haven't. Try not to worry. Let us know how you get on.

I had this a couple of months ago. They injected into my arm but wanted to leave a tube in my arm in case of any reaction to the dye. Luckily my arm wouldn’t play ball so they just injected me instead. It didn’t hurt at all and I hate injections. You will be fine xx

I had an MRI in March. They put a canula in my hand in case they had to put the dye in but they didn't have too.

I was so nervous about the MRI but I found it absolutely fine and I hate small spaces. I could see the ceiling of the room I was in when I tilted my head back slightly. Make sure you lie very still as that gives them clear pics and your MRI will be over before you know it x

I had this too, I think it shows more, so can help them get a better picture maybe. They did mine without first then after 20 minutes came in, put the dye in through my cannula then put me back in for another 20 minutes

I’ve had this done multiple times and each time the dye was given I had a slight reaction to it, my insides got a little irritated and my stomach began to hurt slightly more where endo and adhesions were. Otherwise it’s pretty straight forward, nothing to worry. The images get show more with this MRI scan.

Sweety.

Thanks for all your comments. It went ok and the dye wasn't too bad. Just need to wait for the results now
