Has anybody had a negative diagnostic lap before? Have you then gone to find out it’s something else?
I’ve been back and forth between my GP and gynaecology for 10 years now. My GP has referred again asking for a lap. But I’m really worried if I have one they won’t find anything. Since gynea just aren’t interested in me at all.

Hi I've been struggling for 16 years numerous scans.... nothing. Until 2020 when a scan finally showed I had PCOS. Although diagnosed with that I still was suffering painful heavy periods that made me have direah and sickness, it's literally like giving birth every month the pain I get. Anyway I finally got referred to gynecology September 2022 and had an internal exam by my gyno she said everything felt good inside. But I told her I feel like there's something wrong. She then turned around and mentioned possible endometriosis but she was 100 percent positive it was not. She reluctantly put me down for laproscopy. Got my laproscopy September 2023- just over 9 weeks ago.... a year later after waiting and suffering. Woke up to be told I have endometriosis but not all could be removed and I will need to see an endometriosis speashialist as where It is -tricky to remove all. So yh don't worry I'm sure all will be fine. It didn't sink in straight away to be honest, I was just glad I had a diagnosis and a name for this horrible disease. Currently waiting to see the speashialist, will probly have more surgery xx
I have! I’ve had symptoms for 12 years, had my first lap with general gynae in 2021 where they didn’t find anything but small cysts on my ovaries.
I kept pushing with my gp who referred me again to gynae, I was given an mri which showed what they suspected was deep infiltrating endo of my uterosacral ligaments (many ultrasounds didn’t show anything at all) so I was referred to an endo specialist instead. I opted for another lap and had my 2nd lap Friday last week and they’ve confirmed deep endo in 4 different places and excised what they could.
I’ve found general gynae weren’t much help at all in my case and it wasn’t until I was referred to a specialist (on the nhs) that I was properly listened to and finally diagnosed with.
what were your symptoms with deep infiltrating endo on the uteriosacrial ligaments? if you don’t mind me asking, because I’ve been having severe hip and groin pain that makes it difficult to stand or walk and I’m wondering if that’s the cause
Yeah of course! I also have hip and groin pain, shooting pains in my thighs, more recently I would get pain all the way down to my feet and numbness in my feet occasionally. Alongside all the other common endo symptoms but I think those ones were mostly related to the ligaments. It never showed on ultrasound but it did show on MRI (only on the uterosacral ligaments) but they found it in 4 areas overall.
