Just been to see my gp. 3 years ago had a lap, worked great! But last 5/6 months it's been creeping back. Had to take today as sick.... been referred back to gynaecology as he reckons I'll need another lap. Gp also said I did well getting 3 years out of my last one.... like I should feel lucky... I was hoping I wouldnt need one again, but seems like it's a frequent "treatment" for us ladies with endo. Gp said I should be taking paracetamol.... I said it doesn't help and I kinda got a rolling of eyes.......
Well, I'll see how I go!!!!!

Yes it does seem to be something that needs repeating. But having excision rathe than ablation seems to lessen the chances especially if an endo specialist does it rather than a general gynecologist.
Do you take or have you tried any other pain killers than paracetamol to try and get pain relief?
Yes I've tried different sorts over the years, took one type of meds that was anti anxiety but also helped with nerve type pain. Great for the pain but left me terribly nauseous.... I'm rather sensitive to medication, so avoid it if I can...... gp didnt really offer anything this time.
I've been reading up and lots of women have to go back for repeated surgery... just keeps coming back..... something I'll have to accept I guess.....
The surgeon didnt really say much. Didnt tell me what stage it was. They removed adhesions from my bladder and c section scar and other fibres from around my organs.... other than that I'm not sure how severe or what stage?
I had my first 1 5 years ago and they thought it would go away but its come back now and more sever than before on stage 4 now. I'm on 2x 30/500mg cocodamol 4 times a day to help the pain. Paracetamol only helps with minor pain.
See I haven't been given a stage yet? Noone really seems to have the patience to sit and talk to me about it.... the surgeon last time just said hes cit it all put. I should be fine...
Co-codamol? Thats pretty strong isn't it? I tried that years ago, but I made me see things? I'm really sensitive to meds. Paracetamol is the most I can really do and that doesn't really touch the pain......
I had thr same problem from doctors before they realised what I had. They kept thinking it was just normal period pains and I was exaggerating it. Took them forever to realise it doesnt pick up on scans then finamt had the first opp and it was a mild form. Was ok up till recently managed to have a boy amongst complica but they thought it would fully go away but they where wrong. It spread so much my left ovary is attached to my womb and is getting difficult for me to walk without feeling like I'm being ripped from inside. Cocodamol is the only thing which remotely works for now as I have go use the other meds through the years they stopped working.
I tried it once and it just made me feel worse. It could be for you different people react in different ways. I'm currently waiting for my second opp
Urgh this seems to b normal, im on 3rd and my friend is on 5th!!!
Oh let me guess, paracetamol, was he a man??? Go to ur local pharmacist and get cocodamol 8/500mg over counter with some ibuprofen that may help.
On period try buscopan... they have been something i found about 3 years ago due to ibs but used once on period and there brilliant coz there for cramps
I'm pretty sensitive to meds also, paracetamol is kinda the only thing I take for pain (waiting for gyny appointment and maybe lap to confirm endo) and I also take buscopan with no side effects and it definately helps with cramps hope that's a help to you 😁
GPs are not trained to treat or help you with endometriosis. ON/GYNs aren't either.
You need to immediately get referred to a great BSGE centre where there's a team which will remove all endometriosis in one sitting. The issue with endometriosis is that you oftentimes need endless laparoscopies unless you find a well-trained and experienced endometriosis excision surgeon working with a team.
Please PM me if you want to know names of doctors who might be able to help once and for all.
