I had a laparoscopy about a month ago where they confirmed my endo and found some nodules and cysts hiding in there. How long did you have to wait to hear back of results and to talk to the gynaecologist after your operation?
Calling the hospital where my gyno resides is practically impossible as no one answers the phone ever. Should I call where I had the surgery?
I’m wondering wether I should push from the GP or not as last time I went to get my stitches checked they seemed to know less about the operation than me….
oh I’m based in the UK, should probably say that

Hi Fred91... I had my surgery in March and still waiting to see my consultant, no sight of an appointment yet... I would contact where your consultant is based out of and ask to speak to their secretary, if you get nowhere then I'd say your GP... Hope you get somewhere, good luck 🤞🏻
Funnily enough... I've had a clinic appointment letter today arrive (it's been cancelled!!) I'm under Whiston in Merseyside. I will give it another few weeks to see if it's been rearranged. The joys!
I didn't get a follow up appointment with gynae after my surgery. I was so unhappy with the situation, I got re-referred to a different team in another hospital by my GP.
My GP took so long to refer me for an initial visit -a good couple of years- that I am afraid to go via them to get a referral again. It took me 8 years to be believe by any doctor to that I had endo that any set backs worry me.
hun I had my op back in April and saw my consultant in June. Keep trying the hospital hun I did have issues sometimes when I would phone no answer and just answer machine but I tried different times. I’m on the list for my second op. When I had the op to confirm everything I had a very detailed discharge summary after the op. I also think 🤔 it can depend on the stage of the endo as I had telephone calls from the endo nurse as well not long after my surgery. I know it’s harsh but I think this can be the case. Also I was told it’s the back log of also surgeries and things that should have happened in Covid aswell. I’m now hopefully on the more urgent list as my symptoms have gotten a lot worse since my last surgery. Also depend on where you had surgery the consultant also place in uk too I am very lucky. It may not be to do with the stage but I think it could be as one of my friends had a lap and then they haven’t done anything else as she had minimal endometriosis. So it could depend on that too. If not try and speak with your gp . X
Update: I rang the hospital earlier to sort the cancelled appt... May 2024 it had been re-arranged for 😳Told her absolutely not (in a firmer manner) there just happened to be one pop up for next Friday... Please all follow up with their secretaries than your GP, you get somewhere quicker!
I got a letter yesterday for March 2025. I thought it was a joke. I had to contact patient Liason cos as an always no one answers the phone at the hospital… march 2025. I might be dead by then lol
No way!! 2025 🙈Thats an absolute joke, good on you for getting PALS involved, can't believe that, so sorry!
Did pals help you?
I'd sit on the phone for as long as it took to get an answer! Maybe try get an email for the secretaries or even the chief executive on the webpage... I am honestly shocked for you. Hope you manage to get something a bit sooner!
