Just a quick question, I have my first gyno appointment next week after my doctor referring me for suspected Endo. I have been keeping track of my symptoms on my phone, but is there anything else I should think about/ expect to be asked on this appointment? Any advice is great (I’m nervous!)

Just stay strong as from what I’ve seen many doctors will give you excuses for your pain. I did everything they asked me to pills/therapy etc until they had no excuses left and it took along time x
Be strong! If they suggest you go on the pill and you don’t like it don’t let them force you and they will give you a million ‘chats’ about that being the treatment but just stick to what you believe is right for you And demand more. Sometimes you have to jump through hoops but don’t leave without having something they are doing for you to validate your pain. Also don’t feel rushed. You have to be so firm and strong. Take a friend or family member if you need! You’ve done well to get to gyno stage so keep going! Xx
I have tried every mini pill my GP would allow, giving me severe 4 day-on, 4 day-off periods, I am now using the combined pill and still suffering from (potential) Endo symptoms so I hope that using the pill is not their solution 😔 Thank you for your reply! X
1) Write down all your symptoms and issues (difficulty passing stools, pain during sex, nausea, tiredness, any comorbities meaning any other autoimmune disorder you suffer from)
2) Let him/her ask all the questions first
3) If any thing you had written down doesn't come up, ask it yourself or point it out at least (e,g. I also suffer from this disease or I also have this symptom)
4) Ask the gyn who will perform your surgery if they perform excision or ablation surgery and whether you will need a second surgery in case of bowel involvement.
To your GP: ask for blood work (get your vitamin D and possibly vitamin B12 and iron levels tested).
