looking at the endo diet again

I have followed the endometriosis diet several times in the past stopping and starting it because it doesn’t fit very well into my life

I find it very expensive and not convenient

Please help me I am sick of looking and feeling 8 months pregnant

I am on prostap injections every 3 months I have been for 2 years

I'm sorry you are suffering. My stomach is really bloated too, so I understand what you're going through. Mine is caused by Adenomyosis. I am starting intermittent fasting today, funnily enough. I'm going to eat between 12 and 8. It apparently does help Endo/Adeno. Can you maybe just make little changes, that don't cost a lot? Ie change from normal milk to soya? Then build from that.

This disease is so frustrating. I really feel for you 😢

I also have adenymiosis and endometriosis

Hi! I haven’t tried an “endo diet”, mainly because I love food too much to restrict it, but also because I can’t be bothered with the faff or the expense of buying and cooking things just for me.

What helps me reduce bloat & discomfort is limiting caffeine intake, having plenty of water and peppermint tea etc instead. I also take daily probiotic capsules, which is a bit of an expense, but in my opinion is a good investment.

There are a few foods that very obviously irritate my digestive system, so I limit them or avoid them altogether (onions, spring onions, leeks, cucumbers, too much of anything acidic/tomatoey/fizzy).

Hopefully, you will hit on a combination of small changes that will make a big improvement to your bloating. xxx

thank you. I definitely have far too much caffeine every day but I’m so tired

I don’t think I could function without it

Decaf tea has really helped me! I avoid coffee too.

Yes, I do. I did stop but it made no difference. My gp tested me for gluten intolerance too, which came back normal.

I have tried doing a gluten-free diet dairy free diet, cutting out meat and had no luck.

Totally get your pain on this one. It needs to be life affirming enough and not wreak the bank balance. Try this approach via Heal Endo Katie Edmonds which I found more realistic to integrate and allowed me to discover the bugbears x

I have tried this recently and noticed a huge difference. I cut out processed food and simple carbs, all wheat and all sugar (except some fruit) including no alcohol. It made a huge difference. Then I had a birthday weekend and reintroduced all those things and I was so ill the following days. Definitely going to get back on it. I read Megan Ramos' book intermittent fasting for women and its very very good. Also read End of Endo which was very good too. Good luck x

I cannot stress enough how cutting out alcohol changes things for me. It's the number 1 thing that makes the absolute difference. If my diet is good then I'm good. I reread that book by Megan Ramos and I'm starting the fasting and low carb today. I do get crazy cravings for wheat but after 2 weeks these disappear. Everyone is different. I can tolerate coffee and dairy but not wheat, sugar or alcohol. Try eliminating one thing at a time and keep a journal of your findings. Good luck x

I try to focus more on adding in plenty of anti-inflammatory foods rather than restricting too much. There are lots of versions of the endo diet out there but you don't have to make it complex, in fact I think a more basic version is much sustainable longer term than doing something very harsh and restrictive. The longer you can do it for the more benefit you will get, but start small and just make a few basic changes and that may start to help.

I have found restricting dairy, caffeine, alcohol and bread to be helpful. I have cut out the biscuits, cakes sweets and processed foods and that has definitely reduced some of the bloat. I too found I was really tired, had a blood test and found I was anaemic, iron tablets prescribed and now alot less tired.

Hi! I have found an anti inflammatory diet has really helped me. No gluten, dairy, sugar, cafeine, alcohol and limited processed foods. Yes it is restrictive, but worth it. I don't struggle too much when I go out to eat. I drink at least 2 litres of water a day. I pack my meals with vegetables and low sugar berries. I have also tried to limit my carb intake to under 140g a day. It is relatively easy to swap things out. So instead of ordinary pizza I would have dairy free on a sourdough base. Sourdough bread is fermented differently to normal bread. Doesn't seem to negatively impact me. It has been hard but I feel much better for it. Maybe give elements of it a go?

Try lactosfree milk and no processed food or onions garlic look at FODMAP diet helped me good luck.
