weight loss and bloating loss after surgery?

so I’ve steadily gained quite a rotund stomach over the last 9 months I reckon. Since January when my bleeding and bloating became horrific. My question is - will I lose this bloating and hopefully some pounds on the scale after my surgery? Or is this life now?

hi lovely, I’m sorry, it does happen to the most of us.

I’m now 8 days post op of my 3rd surgery. Each time, my belly came out smaller than it came in, even with all the swelling of the surgery. I did lose quite a lot of weight, but had a lot removed from inside so I’m sure this is just a number on the scales and muscle I’m losing as not able to move as normal.

In general, I did experience less bloating in the months following surgeries and I’m sure you will notice some difference

An extra advice that worked well for me was following a low fodmap diet. My belly was quite happy whilst on that but I must warn you that it’s not the easiest diet to follow as it’s quite restrictive - I’ve only done it for a while as mentally it was not manageable for me.
