Hi - I’m new here. I wondered if anyone has experience of a laparoscopy to removed Endometriosis. I had it 4 weeks ago and I’m still really bloated. Is that common? Thanks in advance.

Hi I had mine 2 weeks ago and I’m still really bloated, so I’m also wondering how long it last for as I look about 5 months pregnant. How are you feeling in general? X

Thanks for replying. I’m doing ok, just wondering if this bloating will go away as it’s been 4 weeks now. Like you I also feel and look like I’m pregnant. For the first 3 weeks I did do a lot of comfort eating but have been eating healthier these past two weeks and disappointed that bloating doesn’t seem to be shifting!

How are you feeling? 😻

Hi Nancy I’m still quite uncomfortable I’m not sure if that’s due to the Mirena coil that was fitted when I was in surgery and I’ve been bleeding everyday since. Are you still getting pain? When did you start to feel better?

Hi, I was pretty uncomfortable around the whole area for about 2 and a half weeks, then started to feel a bit better. I was keen to get out and about and probably over exerted myself and could feel it exacerbated my abdominal area and it became v tender. So have been taking it easy.

I also got the merina coil put in at the time. No bleeding for me though. I’ve just had my first period since the op and the cramps seemed just as bad, as well as having no energy. But only lasted 5 days. I’ll need to give it a few months I think to see what’s what.

So overall I guess I’m definitely feeling better, except the bloated ness is really getting me down.

Just take it easy and be good to yourself xx

Thanks for your reply, I’m really hoping the pain calms down soon.

Have you tried going gluten free I think that might be my next step. I’ve heard it can really help with the inflammation.

Take care x

I had my op 1 week today. I was feeling fab until saturday when I done some washing and since then I have been in pain. Doc signed me off for 2 weeks but said it could take up to 6. I then mentioned to work that I could cover month end at home and after a few hours I am in agony. I am only sitting down on sofa with a laptop on my knee. But you really do take for granted what your body is trying to tell u. On day one I had a large clot come away but since then it has been a trickle which I found became redder when I over do. I was originally told I would only need a week off work...

Hi Nancy, I had my lap on 11th May and I am still bloated and in pain 😔. I did go back to work really early though so I think my recovery is going to take longer than expected. Do make sure you rest plenty even when you start to feel better ☺️

I seen nurse today to check my stitches and she suggested you know the hold me in pant lol... I might give that a try as well, as she said it will give some additional support and compression type thing.. She also said no washing carrying as it will take 3 months for the internal muscles etc to heal fully. While u think u r ok from the outside you insides are not...light duties no bending and stretching for at least first two weeks

I know you wrote this a long time ago but I am experiencing the same thing. It is now 5 weeks and the pain and bloating still there. How did yours resolve.
