I’ve just had a total hysterectomy because I had cancer. The surgeons assistant said there was a LOT of endometriosis stuck to everything. They had never diagnosed this (or indeed a second completely different cancerous tumour on my ovary) so now I’m thinking… what about the endometriosis? Is it all gone? Should I ask for further scans just to look at this?
Any advice would be great.

Hi l was similar as they found a tumour when l had my first lap when my womb was checked. They didn’t go ahead and complete, l had to go back about 10 weeks later for them to take my womb and cervix. That was with a different consultant as my first one treated me a a worrisome senior citizen (the least said about him the better) but my new consultant was amazing, so pleased they took me off the first ones list.
You are within your rights to ask for MRI or CT which ever is appropriate for you, not sure if you would have a waiting time for this it depends on how busy they are.
Hi think l might have misunderstood, the endo can be stuck to any of your internal organs, bowel for instance, so this is something you need to check on. I was fortunate in that the endo was only attached to my reproductive organs.
They should explain all this at your post op appointment about 4 to 6 weeks post op.
If l have misunderstood anything and you want to get in touch again please do so.
