Endo back after surgical menopause - anyone else?

It's a long story so I shall keep it short - I had TLH/BSO with excision at a BSGE centre in 2017, putting me in surgical meno. Things were generally OK for a while but about 18 months ago I started to get symptoms again (pain, cystitis, then the unpredictable guts started). Gave up on the wait for an NHS appointment and went private to see a specialist from the BSGE centre that did my surgery.

MRI showed two definite nodules on the bowel, one of which appears to be the remains of the RV nodule they excised back in 2017, now growing 1cm into the bowel wall. I'm seeing a gastro for help with the bowel symptoms plus a pelvic physio, and the gynae is monitoring the endo to see if it gets worse as obviously surgery would be risky now. I'm also changing my HRT to see if that helps (with support from premature meno specialist).

I'm trying to be adult about it, but I had such a horrible time with treatment before (so many medical errors and eff ups) that just going in the hospital door can be a challenge. Gastro wants me to have a colonoscopy (had one before, don't want another). I'm tired and in pain and fed up 😜

Anyone else in the same boat and how are you dealing with it?

I have been suffering acute upper right quadrant pain post surgical menopause but, after they removed my ovaries, I was advised not to go on HRT because of the oestrogen which they believe prompts endo growth. My pain is still cyclical and may still be on my gallbladder and liver but unless all the endo is removed the pain will always come back. Also, after multiple surgeries, adhesions form which also cause pain. I’m constantly being told to have colonoscopies. It may be worth it to rule out further problems but as they can see what’s wrong in your case, shouldn’t they be dealing with that? The question is, how much more surgery can you put up with?. After 9 ops in 23 years, I’m about to jump on the merry-go-round again. For me, it’s about weighing up the pros and the cons and right now further surgery seems an option for me. But it’s been 7 years now, since my last op. Really hope you can find someone really good to guide you through this. It helps to have an understanding GP.
