bowel movements

Does anyone else deal with a really sluggish bowel? I feel like the majority of the time, I struggle to empty my bowel and have really hard and slow bowel movements and it doesn’t matter what I eat (foods with lots of fibre etc), it doesn’t seem to make a difference, and then I get really stressed out and worried when I’m constipated. I don’t like taking constipation relief medicine after having a really bad experience a couple of years ago (caused extremely painful diarrhoea, sickness etc). Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions? My endometriosis is located in the pouch of Douglas and I experience mainly bowel symptoms with it xx

even a spec of endo in the pounch of Douglas creates a kink in the rectum making it harder to go. My colorectal surgeon even drew a picture to explain this to me as mine as stuffed full of endo and I was having the same issues as you but after excision surgery they also straightened the rectum as part of the surgery.

I can only recommend drinking lots, keep the body moving with some walking and positions do help I had to lay down and roll around a bit then squat down to enable me to pass any stools.

Hi, I have endo in my bowel and sometimes I feel that my stomach/bowel can’t take any food because isn’t working. Doesn’t matter what food is just my stomach doesn’t function. The only thing that is working for me is taking Levogastrol before eating. It helps with gastric mobility without causing any side effects. It’s very gentle in the way it works. I hope that’s helpful! Good luck and take care

Hi, sorry to hear you are going through this, I can very much relate. I’ve had bloating and constipation for years. I switched to a gluten free diet which helped but it certainly hasn’t resolved the problem. I’ve tried lots of fibre supplements with some success. The natural fibre tablets called fruits and fibre are not too bad or psyllium husk- I realise you may have already tried these. Mine seems worse when I’m stressed so I try to minimise this as much as possible. Have you tried meditation/relaxation? Have you had any tests to check you haven’t got a food intolerance or another reason for the bowel issues? I am going to pursue this at my Gp practice prior to seeing a private endo specialist. Thinking of you, this isnt an easy thing to manage x

hi, I struggle with constipation at various times in month with lots of pressure in my bum 🤦‍♀️ I have to have 2 coffees on a morning to help. But sometimes I go, but then have to go again 15 min later as it wasn’t emptied properly. Very annoying when I’m trying to get to work. I have a 2 cm nodule in the POD near the sigmoid colon so quite low down and my POD is obliterated with adhesions. I have to rock in the loo, if anyone can relate to that 😂🤦‍♀️
