Ryeqo, anyone on it or tried it?

Just started this today, apparently it's a new drug similar to prostap but in tablet form with hrt included, to be taken once a day for six months. When I picked my prescription up the chemist said the 3 month supply of tablets were very expensive and cost over £200 apparently! I work but i'm on universal credit aswell, don't know if you would have to pay that if not.

Hi there, I have been prescribed it too and just started mine this weekend. How have you been getting on taking yours?

Hi, yes I started it 2 weeks ago, I've been on the mini pill for just over 3 years with no problems, periods and pain stopped while taking it. Started ryeqo straight after I got the prescription and can't say I've noticed any difference so far, been expecting similar symptoms to prostap like hot flushes but nothing so far thankfully, might take a while to properly kick in.

My consultant said after the six months are done to go back on the mini pill, I think they're gonna do a mri to see if it's made a difference to the fibroids or the endo on or around my bowel, hopefully it does.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply and that’s great to hear you’ve been feeling ok on it so far, hopefully that will continue for you and that it will help your fibroids and Endo. Although it’s still such early days for me on it I too am waiting for the side effects……just hoping they will be manageable and for me that it will help ease my pain…..

Good luck too x

I've been prescribed in April for fibroids. I'm bleeding more. I'm little confused do you take them on day of period or 5 days after.

Hi….to start them I think you are supposed to take within the first 5 days of your period starting….and then everyday around the same time after that.

Hi I have been prescribed this medication and been taking this for a month as I have already been on the injection form for a year and no change to symptoms. So private consultant recommended this and I have now been put on her NHS patient list. Appointment is at the end of October.

I have noticed that bleeding is slightly less but I am really swollen, irritable, hot flushes, headaches and pain is still the same so hopefully these symptoms settle down because I feel awful.

Anybody else have any dealings with this new drug?

How are you getting on now? I've been taking it for 6 weeks, had some light spotting after my first period but not had a follow on period so thinking those might stop. Not had any other side effects but also not felt any improvements to my fibroid pain/pressure symptoms. Wondering if/when you noticed any improvements?

Hi, i finished my 6 month course of Ryeqo last week and thankfully didn't get any side effects or notice anything different from the mini pill i've been on for the last couple of years. I haven't had any pain or other symptoms apart from the odd spotting since i started the mini pill so it's hard to say whether the Ryeqo has made any difference.

Was suppose to be having a telephone appointment with my consultant to discuss how i got on with it, but it got cancelled. I think i may be having an mri or scan sometime next year to see if it has improved my endo or fibroid, it's been quite stable for a while now. Hope you see some improvement in your symptoms soon, good luck.

Thanks for sharing. Oh that's a shame your appointment got cancelled. Good to hear things stay stabled though and fingers crossed you see improvements once you have the scan!

hello,

I am on my 3rd month of Ryeqo. I was pescribed it after having a laparoscopy to removed severe endo. I have found it VERY up and down. One minute I feel great and think it’s the best and back to my old self and then bam a day later I am bleeding with cramps, this has continued for 3 weeks and within this a migraine. I now feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. No energy, flu like body aches. I can only imagine it’s my hormones fluctuating but it’s mentally draining. On the plus side I don’t have horrific periods so it’s the less of 2 evils. I will continue to take it and hope for the best but it’s tough. It may be different for everyone but this is my experience so far x

Hi, I have fibroids and endo. I've been on Ryeqo for 4 months and although it started OK I've had some scary episodes of heavy bleeding in the last 2 months. I am in more pain than ever before, having sleep problems, horrible back pain, knee pain... I am disappointed, I wanted this to work and give me some life quality back. I was on minipill for 1 year before, with constant light spotting but no pain... Anyone else having these problems?
