pre op surgery date

Hi ladies

Just wondering what your experiences with pre op appointment and how long to surgery date .

The nurse told me 2-6 weeks , but mine is with 3 surgeons so I’m thinking it might be longer ?

It would depend on your hospital and area. I had my pre op in March. Had first surgery booked 4th June then it was cancelled then was due to have surgery this Friday then they cancelled yesterday due to doctor strikes. The strikes that are ongoing seem to be putting all elective surgeries back. The lady I spoke to yesterday could give no indication on a new date.

wow I’m sorry your having to wait so long .

My consultant also told me 3-4 months when I saw him in March.

My consultant is very good so will push for me too,

I’m self employed so it would be nice t👍 know I did tell the theatre staff that and he said he will try and give me notice .

So if Iv not heard by end of July I will ring up and see where I am .

Hi Jade, pre op checks, especially if they include blood cultures are, with my hospital group, only valid for about 3 to 4 weeks thus we are not usually called in before this time.
