Its been three months since I’ve had my diagnostic laparoscopy and was finally diagnosed with endo which they removed but ever since then I haven’t really felt myself I’m seeing the specialist nurse tomorrow I wanna ask her a few questions about what happens next but not really sure what to ask. Any advice would be helpful.

What do you mean you no longer feel yourself?

I think it was just because I had to wait so long to be diagnosed and then when I actually got diagnosed it was just another condition to add to the others (I have other illnesses). I think I’ve kinda lost who I was.

I think it takes some time and you need to accept the fact that you can no longer do things that you could in the past but that doesn't change anything to who you are. I've done a lot of things in the past and these are the most important recollections. So, I know what I'm capable of if I wasn't that sick and that's the essential. And you can tell yourself that a lot of people who are not sick wouldn't even have done what you probably could do. What makes me feel great is when I look at other people either in reality or on YouTube jump from a certain height or other things like that and I just feel it like if I were doing it and it feels super great.

Hi Churchie, have you kept a diary of your symptoms and things you feel you should be able to do but not getting there yet. I am post menopause by many years so my experience may be very different from your own. But after a change of surgeon after my partial hysterectomy to when l had my hysterectomy completed and a tumour being found in my womb, which he missed, l have almost regained all my previous energy just need to pick up a little more on my self belief.

As l say if you are able to write down your hopes and fears going forward it certainly helps when you are faced with professionals who are in the most very caring and want the best for you but that doesn’t always stop us from having foggy brains 🤭when coming face to face.

I wish you all good things on your journey to full health

I’m trying to keep a record of when I’m in pain and what I’ve done that day. I wrote the questions down when I saw the specialist nurse because I would have forgot them. I’m seeing my consultant in October but the nurse did say if I had problems to call her whenever so that’s good.
