travelling with endo

hi all, not sure if this is appropriate place to post or not so apologies if not. I was wondering if anyone can direct me to a good travel insurer for heading to Tenerife whilst being an endo sufferer? Our holiday was booked prior to my diagnosis as a respite break from caring for my disabled husband so I am determined my twins will get this well deserved treat. I’m just not sure where to use to ensure I am covered.

Many thanks

Hiya I just used the best deal found on the comparison sites. I declared my endometriosis as an existing condition and the price on the policy reflected that. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has a good policy.

thank you for replying. I’ve used a general comparison site, one for people with pre existing conditions and a specialist site and to be honest the best price and cover was on the specialist site but the reviews when people have had to make a claim are terrible so it’s put me off using them even though they claim to be specialist.

Sounds like a false economy to go with the specialist cover 🫤

Hi! Such a useful question to ask as I struggled loads (went on holiday within 6months of my surgery and was a nightmare finding affordable insurance)! It’s always confusing when you read the reviews when making claims - I don’t think there’s actually any company that’s 💯 perfect. In the end I went for Insureandgo though! X

thank you for your advice they were a company that came up so just need to do some research into all of them and then make a decision I guess. Just makes some so nervous. My treatment is changing in a couple of weeks so hoping my symptoms will settle and I will feel more confident about travelling anyway.

No problem! I can imagine it’s scary but you’ll be surprised just how much the change of scenery and quality time with your family will just help mentally too! :D

Hello Jem33,

I never even thought about saying about endometriosis to insurance company🙈 so never did, but also was not in situation that ever had to claim anything. I think I'm still in denial mode that endometriosis is a chronic disease 🙈

I just needed to cover myself as I ended up in hospital last month so ensuring I have all basis covered before I go. I’m not in denial anymore but still naive thinking “oh I’ll get better it will go away” acceptance is such a difficult thing for me to process just hoping I will get there one day.

I’ve found loads of useful tips/advice on here and questions to be asking which I’m so grateful for as I’m still new to all this so it’s nice to be able to help another even if it’s just awareness 😊
